Extek Vesicular Film Duplicators Model 5446 The 5446 has been undergoing extensive changes in design to accommodate gray-scale library applications. In libraries, roll films (sometimes 16mm but usually 35mm) containing photographs are viewed on readers or reader-printers. The addition of our PreXpose attachment makes the 5446 ideal for use by libraries and others who require an inexpensive positive-image copy of a camera negative. The PreXpose option includes a Tacky Roller film cleaning feature. The Model 5446 will also accommodate the Model TR129 Tacky Roller Film Cleaner (without preexposure). Other options include Work Table and Power Rewind.

35mm, 4 mil film rolls can be copied at an average speed of about 85 feet (26m) per minute and proper development is maintained even in rolls exceeding 1000 feet. 16mm rolls and 35mm, 2.5 mil "thin" film can be copied at faster speeds due to the film having less thermal mass. The new External Temperature Controller permits "fine-tuning" of development temperature by the operator.

Foolproof self-threading system:
You can slide your film into the convenient self-threading guid slot, and the Extek 5446 does all the film threading through the exposure area for you automatically, in seconds.

Optional fast rewind capability:
The Extek 5446 rewinds your film master onto the original reel at speeds at up to 1000 fpm. All types of reels or cores can be accommodated by this optional system.

User Safety features:
Light-shielded cover protects unexposed film. Lamp cover shields the operator from exposure to heat and ultraviolet light.
