ApplicationXtender from OTG Software is a 32-bit document management solution that lets you organize and store documents in user-defined applications. ApplicationXtender organizes all of your documents, allowing quick and easy retrieval of mission critical information from your desktop. ApplicationXtender's simple deployment places your document management system into production quickly, giving your organization a fast return on investment. ApplicationXtender also decreases operating costs by eliminating time-consuming searches through stacks of paper, film, or microfiche.

ApplicationXtender provides a comprehensive set of imaging functions for the Windows 95/98 and Windows NT 4.0 desktop environments. ApplicationXtender's advanced graphical user interface makes it easy to capture, display, index, store, retrieve, and process documents. ApplicationXtender offers advanced Windows features such as drag-and-drop, configurable toolbars, dockable toolbars and windows, and right mouse menus.

Documents stored in ApplicationXtender databases are available to clients via corporate intranets or the World Wide Web using standard Web browsers and OTG's WebXtender software. To maximize distribution of documents throughout an organization, ApplicationXtender documents can also be routed through business processes or workflows using OTG's WorkFlowXtender software. ApplicationXtender includes an easy-to-use Application Generator module (AppGen) to define your document applications. With a user-friendly interface, AppGen allows you to build your document applications and document retrieval criteria (indexes) without programming - allowing you to search for and retrieve documents efficiently and effectively.

ApplicationXtender extends the value of host and legacy applications by allowing documents to be attached to their database records. You can access, retrieve, control, and view ApplicationXtender documents through the host application interface. This extends the host application's functionality, reduces your development and implementation costs, and eliminates the need to re-train your staff on a new application interface. ApplicationXtender's ActiveX automation interface allows for easy integration with host or business productivity applications.

ApplicationXtender offers integrated support for OCR and full-text searching. Both full-text and partial document OCR is supported. Text produced from OCR can be added to an integrated full-text database for detailed keyword, proximity, Boolean, and wildcard searches.

ApplicationXtender supports viewing of ASCII, EBCDIC, AFP and Xerox DJDE/Metacode print streams. You can view print stream data as it was produced for laser printers, allowing identical representatives of the report to be printed from ApplicationXtender.

Annotations can be used to draw attention to high-priority areas of pages stored in ApplicationXtender. Numerous annotation types can be added and saved including highlighting, lines, rectangles, and text notes. Redaction can be used to hide areas of a page that contain confidential information.

ApplicationXtender provides a secure environment for storing documents. ApplicationXtender's flexible security system can be implemented to limit access to specific documents within applications. Additionally, user privilege security is provided so that users can be restricted from performing specific functions within the ApplicationXtender environment.
